Cookie Pusher, Where Are You?

I have recently been unable to access one of blogs I really like, The Cookie Pusher. When you click on the link, it takes you to a WordPress logon page, but his blog apparently does not recognize my WordPress logon.

So Cookie Pusher, if you are still out there, I'd love to hear from you. You have had some really interesting insights.

Digger,

I want to start by apologizing for not doing anything about this sooner. In fact, I haven't logged into my own site since March.

I've suspended (for the time being) my blog. One part of the reason for this is the time I've had to commit to language study and to moving to my next post. Family obligations also made me decide that I needed to take a break from regular blogging.

I also began to question why I was blogging and what I hope to accomplish by doing so.

Frankly, I want discuss how to improve the way the Foreign Service is run. I never intended (or intend) to criticize foreign policy, but rather to discuss the way we do our work and the way we manage one another.

I've been really impressed by many folks (including yourself) already blogging and encouraging dialog among officers. I'm optimistic, actually, that these sort of discussions can ultimately add to our development as a group of professionals.

At the same time, it's clear the Department hasn't yet figured out if it thinks individual blogs are a great PD tool or a security breach. Recent admin notices attest to this. It makes me nervous, frankly.

Finally, I decided that in the fall of this year, after arriving at my onward post, I'll open a somewhat re-tooled "The Cookie Pusher," either on my current site at Wordpress or another blog site. In any case, I'll be sure to let you know.

Apologies once again for the lateness of my reply.

All the best.
