I was feeling momentarily jealous today about the new A-100 getting their bid list and all the excitement and possibilities that go along with that.
And then I remembered...
Oh yeah, I HATE bidding.
(soooo glad I know where I will be through 2014!)

I think you told us, but I can't remember...DC? Unless you're not sharing.
Yes, I'm looking forward to graduating from having a directed assignment!
You know Diane, I sometimes think the directed assignments are easier. You find out sooner, and lobbying is just painful. Especially when you know you are clearly qualified byt can't even get a chance to talk to someone about a job because you aren't a "known" in that department. The thing they never tell you is just how much those two directed assignments will affect where you can go from there. Because lobbying is all about who you know, and who you know at that point is who you have served with.
And Bfiles, I think I would poke my eyes out with pencils if I had to stay in DC until 2014. I have been back since 2007 and am ITCHING to go out again. I will be heading to Estonia in 2011...I have to get a year of language first.
that's right, Estonia! That will be very cool.
I totally agree... bidding is one of my least favorite things in this job (of course I say that as "just" an EFM).
But I will say that I really believe that there is a place for everyone...
... of course, my current posting is not a place for us. But it is for some.
I think. Maybe.
